It's Tuesday 12th May 2020 this may seem like any other day, but it is not just any ordinary day for our nurse working on the frontline. It is International Nurses Day. This usually marks the end of Nurses Week but, this year celebrates the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birthday- we celebrate today to show our appreciation of what nurses do for our society.
Like most days my mother wakes up at the same time to get ready and go to work- as you may have guessed from the title of this blog my mother is a nurse. She spends most of her time looking after other people and with everything that's going on around this time, the world is a scary place. But she will always come home with a smile on her face and spend what little time she has with us. This isn't always the case, when your kids are teenagers and early adults. Spending time with your parents isn't always on the top of the list of how you spend your time but today I want to make it extra special by giving her this appreciation post.
Happy International Nurses Day Mum and to every single nurse working in these scary times, we appreciate and thank you for everything you have done for us.
With Love,
Dene x
